How can we help you?
These are some of the more common questions we've gotten from patients. We are happy to answer any questions you may have, so please feel free to contact us with anything that's not covered here.
Hygiene and Preventive Care
Great job! Brushing and flossing daily are the best ways to take care of your teeth, have a great smile, and avoid having to make too many trips to the dentist. It is still important to come in every 6 months or so for routine visit in order to prevent cavaties and promote great oral health. Call us today to set up your appointment!
The Best Bleaching Procedure Ever Developed
Controlling sensitivity is paramount to successful bleaching and we go to great lengths to control it. We desensitize your teeth for the in-office portion and provide you with your own desensitizers to use in conjuction with the take home trays and home bleaching products. We have had great success controlling sensitivity to bleaching solutions.
Night Guards
It certainly could. TMJ, or temporomandibular joint disorder, can cause a number of symtoms, including: headache, sore jaw, worn enamel, insomnia and loose teeth. Many people grind, slide or clench their teeth together while they are sleeping, causing discomfort when they are awake, as well as damage to their teeth. A night guard can be custom-made to fit your teeth and alleviate clenching and grinding that causes symptoms like pain in your jaw. Call us today and Dr. Denny can help determine if you might benefit from a night guard.
Implant Restorations
We work with oral surgeons and offer a wide variety of implants for many situations. If we can't take care of your implants personally, we will direct you to an experienced professional who can.
Fillings
Yes. We can use composite, or tooth-colored, flllings to replace silver fillings.
Take a deep breath. Sometimes these things happen and it's important to remember not to panic. You may have bit too hard into something chewy or sticky, or they may have been a new decay somewhere on your tooth that caused the filling to come loose. Either way, your tooth may feel slightly uncomfortable, but all will be okay. If your filling comes out, try not to swallow it, and try to salvage it to show to Dr. Denny. If you can come right in, please give us a call and we will do our best to see you right away. If you can't come right in, do your best to keep the area around the tooth clean and chew on the opposite side of your mouth.
Bridges
Not exactly. Technically, bridges are fixed, partial, permanent dentures. We will use bridges when there is a gap from a missing tooth. In other words, we 'bridge' the space between two teeth. Unlike dentures, bridges are not removeable, because we afix them to the neighboring teeth. If you don't have natural teeth, you can't have bridges.
Dentures and Partials
Patients of all ages may need partials or dentures if they have lost some or all of their teeth to situations like disease, decay or accidents. You may need partials if you are missing a few teeth but still have some of your natural teeth remaining. Dentures are used for patients who do not have any of their natural teeth. Dr. Denny can help answer any of your questions and concerns regarding the need for partials or dentures. Call us today to set up an appointment.

Crowns
Whether or not you need crowns or veneers really depends on your situation. If your tooth is decayed and rotted, you may need a crown to cover the whittled down tooth and blend in to match your neighboring teeth. Crowns can also be used to cover teeth that have had root canals, or for cosmetic purposes to correct the appearance of teeth. Some people will need veneers instead for aesthetic purposes, as well. Veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells that match your tooth color and can last for a very long time. Dr. Denny will help you in determining what is best for you and your smile.
How long a crown lasts depends on the hygeine of the surrounding teeth. Crowns themselves will not decay, but without proper care of your teeth, decay can occur at the corners of the crown where it meets your tooth. With good hygeine, crowns can last for many years. Dr. Denny will help answer any of your questions and offer support and guidance to help keep your crowns healthy for years to come.
